About
As a dedicated scientist and science writer, I am passionate about translating research findings into impactful narratives for funders, other scientists, and the public. I work collaboratively with researchers to create content and narratives for papers, grants, and social medial platforms to share innovative projects.

With over a decade of experience in basic science research, I have recently focused on grant and science writing, where my skills in crafting compelling proposals are put to use. My background also includes years of involvement in peer review and editorial processes, which have honed my editing skills and deepened my scientific insight. Additionally, I serve as a social media editor for a scientific journal, where I engage with the research community and share the latest developments.

I earned my PhD in Medical Sciences from Texas A&M University Health Science Center and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. Thank you for visiting my site! Feel free to explore my work and reach out with any questions or collaboration opportunities.

2019 - 2021
Post-doctoral Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine
During my time at Indiana University School of Medicine, I had the opportunity to begin leading projects and mentoring trainees. My collaborative research projects led to high-quality studies that attributed to novel concepts on the pathogenesis of liver diseases. I gained experience in leading a team and developing independent studies, and sharpened my skills in scientific writing, presenting, and communication. While in this role, I obtained independent funding to develop my own areas of scientific interest.
2015 - 2019
PhD in Medical Sciences from Texas A&M University Health Science Center
At Texas A&M University Health Science Center, I focused my studies on rare liver diseases and had the opportunity to work with experts in the field. My degree in Medical Sciences placed an emphasis on patient-driven research hypotheses and understanding translational aspects of basic science. I also received the Graduate Research Excellence Award that is given to one matriculating PhD each year.
2009 - 2013
BS in Biology from the University of Texas
My studies at the University of Texas allowed me to explore my passion for biology and introduced me to the world of research. I had the opportunity to participate in the Student Undergraduate Research Group that invited renowned leaders to share their research to our group. This introduction to science set the foundation for my interests and aspirations.
